separated the combatants at game's end. The Detroit Iron Gloves won by the
slimmest of margins, 6 to 5.
Detroit came up with 4 runs in the top of the 7th inning when they had 3 base
hits. They would prove to be the difference in the contest. Nimrod made it
exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Jered Weaver*(11-6) allowed 5 runs in 7 innings, and picked up the victory.
Weaver* was helped out by Rafael Soriano who recorded his 17th save. Darren
Oliver(3-3) was given the loss in relief. He allowed 2 runs and 1 hit in 2/3
of an inning.
